Mark Dennett - Business

Wichita, Kansas

Mark has made a positive impact in the lives of many. Whether he is helping a customer navigate their business, assisting with the strategic vision of various local non-profits, making an initial introduction between an up-and-comer and a potential person of influence, or spending his late evenings / early mornings reviewing work and providing feedback so that others are not delayed by his involvement in the process, Mark is always selfless and giving of his time and effort.  Mark continually adds more value than can be expected and is the type of person that leads from the front with an attitude mixed of equal parts “get things done” and “how can I help make sure everyone else is reaching their potential”.Mark leaves a lasting impact on everyone blessed with the opportunity to interact with him. It would be impossible to quantify the impact that he has had on the development of numerous colleagues at the Bank or the impact that his actions and leadership have had on the overall profitability of the Bank over the years.

During the past year I have known Mark, he seems to be a great example of a person in our organization who seeks to embody the character qualities of INTRUST Bank. These qualities include: humility, respect, faithfulness, discretion, responsibility, honesty, compassion, decisiveness, initiative, wisdom, fresh thinking and positivity. Great job, Mark.

I have known Mark Dennett for approximately 12 years, initially as a fellow Banker and INTRUST Bank customer and the past 4 years as a team-mate in the Commercial Banking Group at INTRUST. I believe Mark is a man of high character and integrity, humility and he has compassion for people. Mark is a patient yet persistent Coach as he drives his team-mates to give their best as he does in his daily walk in Life. Mark is a selfless Leader who "leads by example" with a commitment to show, serve and develop others. Mark is a truest Leader and Professional in my book.

I have worked with Mark for 13 years now, both in the capacity of peer and with him as my boss. He has been great to work with and for. He continually challenges you as an individual to grow, improve and become a high contributing member of the team here at INTRUST Bank. He exemplifies the true definition of a leader on a daily basis. The way he conducts himself makes those around him want to do a better job. The recognition of the John Maxwell Team as a true leader is not without merit, it would be well deserved.

Mark embodies the concept that leadership is an activity and not a position. His energy, passion and effective use of humor draw folks to him and inspire their engagement in whatever activity is at hand. His recognition by the John Maxwell team is well deserved.

It is no surprise that Mark has been nominated --- what a well deserved honor! Mark was instrumental in making my transition to INTRUST Bank easier and enjoyable! Mark ALWAYS makes himself available to assist with understanding and structuring a relationship with a customer to make it mutually beneficial. He always gets back same day - even though he is being pulled from many different directions.... and does this with humor and grace. Thank you Mark for all of your support, and good luck with the John Maxwell Recognition!

My one year working under Mark as a part time intern has really given me a great example of a team leader. Mark puts on many different hats within the bank which requires a vast amount of knowledge. No matter how great Mark’s comprehension of a topic, he will always work to help the people around him understand. As an intern, I was always included in the discussions and never made to feel beneath the full time workers I worked next to. His positive demeanor makes the workplace one that people enjoy going to. I don’t think he could make it through thirty minutes of a day without laughing with a coworker. All the way through, Mark is a great leader.

Today (June 9, 2016) is the 36 year anniversary of Mark joining Intrust Bank. I have only come to know him within the last 14 months but he has made an impression that will last a life time. What do you say about a man who has to be required to use his vacation time because he enjoys his job so much? How can I better explain a human being that will stop everything he is doing just to make sure no one is left behind or waiting on him. He, more so than anyone else in the bank, represents the ideals we hold true as an institution. By putting people first Mark has touched several lives in several different areas of the institution. I only hope to possess the same knowledge and character at some point in my life.

The first thing that stood out to me about Mark is that even though he holds a high position in his work organization, he doesn't let his work position or his knowledge go to his head. He treats everyone equally. He also has an EXCELLENT sense of humor. He works hard, has many tasks pulling for him but he ALWAYS takes the time to put a smile on people's faces, even if it's a quick joke in passing. He is also very patient when it comes to explaining things, regardless of how much knowledge he himself already has on the subject. Mark is a great example of true leadership and I feel blessed to have been able to work with him.

Congratulations on being nominated Mark, well deserved! Mark is never to busy to lend an ear or try to make people smile. It is a rare individual who can mentor and teach at the level Mark does, and with such a positive attitude. Thank you Mark for all you have taught me in the past 11 years and for always encouraging and enabling your coworkers and friends to do their very best!

I have had the privilege of working with Mark over the past 18 years. He is probably the most positive and encouraging person I have ever worked with. No matter how busy Mark is he always takes the time to stop and say hello and welcome you in his office for any questions you might have. He is a true teacher at heart, and always gives you the why’s behind the answers so you will have a better understanding. Mark’s teaching and encouraging heart isn’t just limited to work. He really cares about each individual person. A few years ago Mark went beyond out of his way to help me through some financial transactions after I lost my both of my parents. He could have just given me the names and sent me on my way but that isn’t how Mark works. He attended every meeting with me and helped me navigate through the entire process. For that I was truly grateful. Mark exemplifies true leadership qualities we all should desire to have.

Mark's charismatic leadership has inspired and motivated others to high levels. His determination to have everyone grow and succeed around him is a selflessness act. He shares his knowledge wealth with anyone that has the desire to listen. Mark's faith and community involvement by voluntary effects help guide and bring enjoyment to his life. His enlarged heart to help others is out of this world. Compared to legendary racehorse, Secretariat, Mark has the work ethic to run races of a life time, break records along the way, stand out among the crowd, true grit, heart of a champion, and shows professional and passionate character among all of us. A true role model stands professionally, spiritually, and personally at the podium ready to teach others so they can grow and reach great heights.

When I think of Mark’s leadership style, the quality that sets him apart from the rest is his unequivocal dedication to his team. He continually offers validation for a job well done and genuinely wants to empower others to succeed. As a true leader, Mark doesn’t just ‘manage’ people; he supports, motivates and encourages individuals to grow in their work and life roles. His ability to tend to multiple teams and tasks during the course of any given day—all while maintaining a positive attitude—is truly admirable. These attributes, are rare and irreplaceable!

Serving as a true leader to our organization, Mark demonstrates integrity, honesty and selflessness on a daily basis. His giving spirit and desire to help others goes beyond his work at the Bank, as he continually volunteers his time and efforts with multiple activities within our community. Over the past two years, I've had the opportunity to work for Mark and experience first-hand his passion to help others learn and grow each day, both professionally and personally. His encouraging words are received daily, leaving an unforgettable positive impact on each of our lives!

One word describes Mark Dennett, passion. Mark is enthusiastic about his every task; such that it energizes others to follow. He possesses an intense feeling of conviction about doing things right the first time. Mark is resilient; he adjusts to different situations quickly and is able to adapt as if he was born to that environment. Mark's passion is trumped only by his compassion for others. His work ethic is exemplary; and his dedication to his profession is exceeded only by his commitment to his family.

I have worked for Mark Dennett over the past two years and have learned so much from him. After being in banking for 36 years, Mark has a vast amount of knowledge of which he loves sharing with anyone willing to learn. Mark will go out of his way, even if he doesn’t have the time, to make sure he helps anyone who asks. Outside of work, Mark is constantly volunteering within the community and his church. In the past two years of working with Mark, he has always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Mark is the kind of leader who always goes above and beyond for his employees and peers.

It is very rare to find someone, like Mark Dennett, who goes above and beyond to assist and mentor, not one or a few, but many employees on a daily basis. Over the years I have personally have learned a lot from Mark, not just within the banking industry, but how to be a better leader, community servant, and an overall better man.

I've only had the opportunity to work with Mark for a couple of years. He approaches challenges with a positive attitude and sense of humor. He's always looking for ways to "Raise the Bar." Good luck, Mark; you deserve this award!

I have had the privilege of working with Mark in various capacities, over my 15 years at INTRUST. I have always observed that Mark is a leader by example. I am certain he has acquired many skills over the years, through education, experience and advice, which have made him very successful in his banking career. However, I think Mark's best skills are the ones that cannot be taught, and those skills are what I believe have really helped him in achieving where he is at today. Thank you, Mark, for being such a great mentor to me! May I be lucky to make half the positive impact in my banking career, as you have made in yours.

Mark is a wonderful leader, a true example of what we should all strive for both personally and professionally. He is very encouraging and always willing to help you or answer any questions that you might have in spite of being expected to be everywhere all the time! I think he might have a stunt double out there we should be watching out for. All kidding aside, Mark is incredibly positive and a great person to work with, I've learned a lot from him.

I have had he pleasure of working with Mark over the past 11 years. I can't even begin to count the numerous times he has helped me work through difficult loan scenarios and always with a smile on his face, a joke and an effort to help me grow as a banker. He is a true leader in every sense of the word. He is loyal to the bank and the employees, compassionate, respectful, honest, and demonstrates integrity in all that he does. I truly feel blessed that I've had the opportunity to learn from him and work along-side him. Everyone should be so fortunate to have a "Mark Dennett" on their team!
