I have know this Man of God for twenty years. I have know him before he responded to his call to ministry and as he he has followed his call to ministry. I have know few people genuine to their Godly call, selfless in their service to others and unquestionably committed to their love for their family. Finding proper balance for all these areas is rewarding at best and difficult at its worst. However, Minister Chaparro is a Godly example to us all that God is more than faithful if we remain committed to Christ. My life (and I am sure many others) is better because of Minister Chaparro.

I met Minister Onario several years ago in a pledge class to pursue leadership training with the International Christian Brotherhood. God led me to the organization and after connecting and being under the leadership of Minister Onario I soon understood God's plan. I experienced three intense years of some of the best leadership training for men, which training transformed my thinking and my life. Minister is a gifted man of God and a strong leader and teacher. He exudes manliness the right way as he demonstrates Christ through his lifestyle. Minister Onario indeed walks the talk! I wholeheartedly endorse Minister Onario for this honor and know that he will grow even stronger in Christ as he continues to serve humanity wherever God places him. Peace and Blessings Minister O.

I met minister Onario officially last year in the "The Me I Want to Be" class. (I know that is not the name but I cannot remember it but I remember the book lol) Mr. Onario, is such a great man of God and very Human which I completely appreciate. One thing I have learned from him while in the class, he was talking to us about our roles. He specifically told us, "What you Do is not who you ARE, what you Do is Your Role in your life, Who you are is everything that God intended you to be as an individual". This stuck with me and I carry this with me always. I am a single mom and I know now, that I am a woman, who is single and has a role as a mother. When people lump me into the "single mother" I always correct them and say, "I am not a single mother, I am a Woman, who is single and I have role as a mother". Thank You Minister Onario for making it plain and reminding me that just because I am a mother, I can still be a woman, fulfilling my goals and dreams without apology! That is truly living #TheBRAVELife! Blessings to you!!!

I have known Onorio for five years as his Doctoral Supervisor, mentor, and friend to his family. In a diverse, cross-cultural leadership environment, he demonstrates extraordinarily high-levels of understanding, competency, and compassion for men and their families. He has an integrity that is apparent to everyone that knows him. A family that demonstrates both his love and leadership as a man and a servants heart that appears to be infectious. He is the kind of leader we want to honor. Dr. Martin Sanders President, Global Leadership Inc. Director, Doctoral Program at Alliance Theological Seminary

A true Leader, someone I look up to, admire and respect. Dr. O. Chaparro is Mature, Decisive, Consistent and Strong. These are characteristics we are taught at Christian Cultural Center, and he exemplify them. I am a far better man today because of his teachings. He has given me life long tools that will always be with me, and for that I will always be grateful. 'As iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.' Pro. 27:17. Strength and Honor.

Ladies and Gentlemen, without hesitation I proudly nominate Dr. Onorio Chaparro for this esteemed leadership award. I've known him and worked with him for close to 2 decades now as a member of the International Christian Brotherhood of which he is Director. And within that time I've witnessed his exemplary character that reflects the leadership principals of Jesus Christ as a minister, a father, and friend. His teachings and leadership style not only challenges men but emboldens them toward positive but personal change that impacts communities for the better, not only locally but abroad as well. He inspires greatly by his spiritual, intellectual and physical examples of servant leadership. This is by his humbly joining along side of the men he leads in various endeavors of ministry. And that is whether it's feeding the hungry, building shelter for the homeless or laying prayerful hands on those who are in need of wisdom and a spiritual uplift within their self esteem. He truly walks in the call to equip men for the synonymous lifestyle and character of Christ-likeness.

Dr. Onorio is such a dynamic and loving individual. A leader who stays the course. This man of God has proven time and time again that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. He has a true desire to add value to others and gives all the glory to his Lord and savior. He takes his time to gives counsel when asked and is always willing to sit back and listen. I'm blessed to know him as he leads by example as a friend, husband, father, and a humble servant of God.

I met Dr. Chaparro while I was a men's ministry leader at another church and he was just assuming his International Christian Brotherhood (ICB) leadership role at Christian Culture Center. We developed a relationship that enhanced and grew both of our leadership positions. To a great extent we became students of men’s ministry programming and functionality. Through our years of interaction I have watch him grow into a leader who utilized and developed the leadership skills of others to produce leaders who have maintained and grown ICB into the organization it is today. As he developed and grew I joined ICB and was eventually elevated into a leadership role. I am constantly amazed at how I met him as a student looking to grow and develop into a leader who would enhance the lives of others seeking to grow in their spiritual/Christian journey. Now today I look at him in his various roles of leader, teacher, nurturer, educator, director, disciple, and realize he has modeled a lifestyle and way of life that is example for others to model and adopt as their own. TITUS 2:7 (NLT) And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. 8 Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us.

Dr. Chaparro is a true leader and servant of God, who exemplifies humility, commitment, and integrity. Through our time in prayer and fellowship I have come to know Dr. Chapparo as a true friend, brother, wise counselor, and confidant. Dr. Chaparro is a gospel movement leader, deeply passionate about seeing men walk in their full potential in Christ. He embodies the scripture "the people who know their God will display strength and take action." Daniel 11:32 Dr. Chapparo is a true warrior for the Kingdom!

I have come to have the utmost respect and admiration for Dr. Chaparro's leadership. This is primarily due to his character and integrity as a man, husband/father, and a follower of Christ. Subsequently, he is the incredibly credible leader that he is because of the person that he is. He is the quintessential representation of leadership and a strong player on any leadership team. Thank God that he is a part of the Body of Christ.

Through his leadership, Minister Onorio has taken International Christian Brotherhood (ICB) to levels beyond approach, which has help me to grow has a Godly man, a Father, a Husband. He always has a smile on face, he greets you with love and respect. His doors are always open to help you and his words of advice and encouragement is always pleasing to the ear. The Family of Christian Cultural Center (CCC) is blessed to Minister Onorio's leadership and passion to see the growth and development of God's children.

Minister Onorio Chaparro is what my wife and I call our spiritual guide at CCC. We have come to him for guidance and counsel on many matters pertinent to our lives, and he has always welcomed us with an open door, a listening ear, and a willingness to impart God's Wisdom to us in his own words. Minister O was the facilitator for our premarital class back in 2008, and in the short time we'd known him by the end of that course he had proven to be knowledgeable, sincere, honest, genuine and generous. I didn't believe him when he said that if we ever needed him he would make himself available...as big a church as CCC is it was definitely hard to fathom that he'd even recognize my wife and I after counseling so many people. Minister O kept his word, however, and to this day he continues to enrich our lives both in and out of the pulpit. He's a dynamic renderer of the anointed word of God, an avid and active listener, a fully engaged family man despite the tremendous responsibility he has to our church, and a student of the word, engaged in constant elevation of his understanding of God for our sake. There is no one person more equipped or more deserving of this honor than Dr. Onorio Chaparro. When it comes to considering Onorio among mighty men of God...the mold has been broken.

I have no hesitation in recommending this spiritual giant as a leader. Dr. Chaparro is an insightful, decisive and compelling Minister that is able to deliver God's word with clarity, conviction , accuracy and without compromise in a manner that is able to tug at heart strings and motivate, uplift , instruct and direct.his listeners. I am also working directly under Dr Chaparro's direction as a member of one of our small group ministries, connect groups. Through these groups, he develops emerging leaders. He is supportive, kind, firm, informative, patient, resourceful and has the keen ability to dscern, detect and uplift as he raises up leaders. I personally didn't think that I had leadership qualities but he patiently worked with me, reassured me, nurtured and directed me as I launched out with confidence and faith in God.

What can I say about Minister Chaparro? I can say many good things about him, but I'll stick to what stands out the most to me. He does his best to live by the word of God. He's not afraid to be transparent, especially if he knows it's going to inspire someone to keep fighting the good fight of faith. He's honest, he lives by example, following other men and women who are also living by example, as they follow the greater one, Jesus Christ, the greatest example of leadership, humility, obedience, and love. Am grateful for what God, through His Holy Spirit , is doing through Minister Chaparro.

Minister Onorio, or should I say Dr. Onorio is a true man of character. He is mature, decisive, consistent and strong as a man, a husband, a father, a son, a friend. He is one of the few people that is always so busy playing so many roles, yet he still has time to listen to you, respond to your emails, and address your issues. He is diplomatic about how he responds to situations, yet humble and transparent about him as a person, and his limitations. But above all, I love his passion for God, and how he is firm and steadfast in his beliefs and his pursuit of God. As I said before, he is a true man of character, a true man of God.

Minister Onorio Chaparro, far from a self made man, is constantly pouring into the lives of the membership of Christian Cultural Center, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He oversees the very spiritual development of the congregation. Sermons, alone, cannot sustain a church. It is the spiritual development and maturation of the congregation which strengthens a church. Whether in the pulpit, counseling a brother, organizing an event, or simply hanging out he is teaching and serving the people. His leadership with regard to the International Christian Brotherhood of more than 500 men speaks to his commitment to ministry and the growth of the men. Not in numbers, but in their personal development and commitment to represent "Christ in Culture" and in their homes. Comments of the wives and children speak to the transformation of the lives of the men and their families. Minister Osorio's guidance of the new members and converts is most critical. New members and converts are guided through a six month course to enable them to fully understand the decision which they have made to follow Jesus Christ.. The course provides a solid foundation upon which the convert can be securely placed.. Minister Chaparro's adoration of his wife is exemplary, as his dedication to his children and their development. He is a servant leader, never placing himself above or more important than another. In the pulpit he teaches and challenges all who are present. His approach to the text always draws you in, wanting and waiting to know what he is going to drop on you. He is consistently relevant, heavenly and of great earthly value. We are blessed through his life.

A SOLDIER who is Selfless, Obedient to the Lord, Loyal, Disciplined, a man of Integrity, Enlightened and Resilient. I would like to take this opportunity to officially nominate Dr. Onorio Chapparo for the 2016 John C. Maxwell Leadership Award. Serving as both Director of International Christian Brotherhood and Director of the Maturity Division for Christian Cultural Center (one of the largest churches in Brooklyn, NY with over 30,000 members), Dr. Chaparro has influenced and impacted the lives of literally tens of thousands of people throughout New York City. International Christian Brotherhood (ICB) is one of the largest men’s ministries on the East Coast. The organization is responsible for taking hundreds of men through an intensive three-year discipleship and leadership program. For the last decade, Dr. Chaparro has led the organization, helped to build out its programs and worked tirelessly to train men. Dr. Chaparro is personally responsible for helping multitudes of men to: restore their relationships with their children, rekindle their marriages, get employment, and repair their broken lives and families. Dr. Chaparro is a relentless, roll-up-your-sleeves and get dirty kind of leader. He is a true “fisher of men.” A gifted teacher, orator and theologian, Dr. Chaparro has impacted and transformed my life personally. For over six years, I was under Dr. Chaparro’s tutelage, helping him to facilitate ICB programs. During this time, he poured himself into me, and taught me many spiritual and leadership principles. He always led and taught me by example – starting first with being a devoted husband and father (he has been married for 16 years and has 4 children) to every aspect of his ministry. Dr. Chaparro always believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. I will always remember Dr. Chaparro constantly telling me, that I would do great things for God, and him relentlessly recommending various books for me to read. One of his favorite mottos is “Leaders Read.” It is because of Dr. Chapparo leadership that I’m a student at Fuller Theological Seminary today and now run a non-profit in Los Angeles impacting thousands of young adults across the country. I personally can’t think of anyone else who is more deserving of the 2016 John C. Maxwell Leadership Award than Dr. Onorio Chapparo.
